My diet has been way off track lately. But I will not allow this trip home or the holidays in general get to me. I will run, stretch, eat well and enjoy my friends and family (as well as nonfat gingerbread lattes!).

Work and life are seriously getting in the way of my runs.

I know that is an excuse (and a lame one at that) but I’m really struggling with balance right now. I can find the time to get them in, sure, but with the amount I’m working, I can’t get them in when they will be good. So I’m settling for a bunch of sub-par miles, just to cross them off in the log, and I’m really not okay with that. I hate half-assing something that is important to me. And I need to figure this out before I start ½ training. Blerg.

Off to work. Again. *sigh*

Catching Up…

Running reports from the past two days

Monday–3 miles on the nose. My knee started doing something weird somewhere between 2.5 & 3 miles. It didn’t hurt persay, but it felt weird. So I wanted to take it easy.

Tuesday–3.47 miles. “Made up” some of what should have been 4 miles on Monday. Knee felt good.  I’m not stretching enough, though I am getting good at drinking water during my runs.

Celestial Seasonings Gingerbread Spice Tea + Fat Free French Vanilla Creamer = LOVE.

Seriously, makes me not even want Starbucks Gingerbread Latte (and that’s about the only thing from Starbucks I actually ever want). So. Good.

Last Night’s Run

The Plan: 3 miles

The Play-by-Play: Walked ½ mile, ran ½ mile for 3 miles, then walked almost ½ mile (.42) as cool down. Good times. 45 minutes total.

3 miles scheduled for today. I’m working until 9:30/10:00, so it’s going to be a late run. At least the gym will be EMPTY when I get there.

Blah Run

I love running. I really do. I usually look forward to my runs.

But tonight sucked. It wasn’t the worst run ever, but my heart and my head were just not in the game.

But I did it so I could cross it off in the log–which is something, because normally I would’ve quit about a mile in if I wasn’t feeling it. I’m giving myself credit for finishing it.

Long run on Thursday (5-6 miles). Looking forward to that. :o)
